Apple User Group Bulletin – June 17, 2009

COMMUNITY NEWS

1] – Final Cut Pro Network SuperMeet: June 25 in London

Have you attended a Final Cut Pro Network SuperMeet? Every SuperMeet is filled with great presenters, a bountiful raffle bin, sponsors galore and an opportunity to network with leaders in the industry. On June 25 the first annual London SuperMeet will coincide with the tenth anniversary of FCP groups in the UK. This is one event you won’t want to miss.

Be there.

2] – Growing Groups: Final Cut Pro User Group in Hungary

Not all big user group Apple events happen in the US, the UK or France. Hungary’s Final Cut Pro Group is producing a road show that includes five presenters, two master trainers and video pros. The results? It only took two weeks to sell out, and the group is making plans for a bigger venue next year.

Join and learn.

(Congrats to Gyula Kazari and members of Hungary’s FCP group.)

3] – Santa Barbara Macintosh Users Group: Chris Breen Presents

The Santa Barbara Macintosh Users Group (SBMUG) keeps busy, with regular podcasts, blogs, picnics and presenters. In July, Chris Breen, Senior Editor of Macworld Magazine will return. If last year’s preso at the Museum of Natural History is any predictor, this meeting will provide good memories for years to come.

Check it out.

4] – Resources: Australian MUGs Have a New Magazine

Founded by Nicholas Pyers and made up of more than 30 groups in Australia, AppleUsers.org is a central gathering spot for the leaders of Australian Apple User Groups. On July 25 they will display their newest project: a new digital format (PDF) magazine for all Australian MUGs to distribute free to their members.

They work together to grow together.

5] – The Pi: Clubhouse Saturdays Provide a Great Service

For more than thirty years, few groups have been as vibrant and accomplished as the Washington Apple Pi (WAP). One of the reasons that they have stayed involved and active is their commitment to public service. Their newest service is Clubhouse Saturdays, where people can meet, chat, learn what is going on with the club and ask questions of hardware and software gurus.

Check it out.
