Imaging for the World Wide Web

This workshop will be well suited for photographers, web designers and people who have web sites. We will discuss how to prepare images that present well on web pages. This is a basic skills workshop, but the subject matter will include information that is not commonly discussed.

Magic Island.
$15 entry fee.

Photo Scramble

This part is for fun and competition. Participants will be given five topics and be given two hours to shoot the images that best express the topics. Photographers may submit one image for each of the five topics for peer judging at the next workshop. Participants may elect to submit for all or some of the topics. But only one image per topic. The best images (as judged by peers) will be given cash awards. The amount of the award will be dependent on the number of participants.

Kelby Online Videos – Photoshop Elements Part 1

Join us for more Kelby Online Training videos on Photoshop Elements by Lesa Snider. In this first session Joan Matsukawa will demonstrate the PSE interface. Then we will watch the videos and do what Lesa just demonstrated. She is VERY clear in her explanation and it should be doable and fun. Load Photoshop Elements 8 on your computer before coming or download a trial version and load that. Warning – it takes a fairly long time to download and install so you’ll have to do it prior to the session.

If you don’t have a laptop, no problem, just come and watch and listen and take notes to do it at home. Grab a drink downstairs and come up to the Ali’i Conference room on the 2nd floor.

Kelby Video night – Illustrator

Watch Dave Cross introduce Illustrator CS4. Each topic is covered in a short video. Check out the classes and topics at the Kelby Online Training site. Click the View Lessons button to see the topics. The first one in the series is usually free so you can check out the style and quality.

Each entire class is about 2 hrs long and since we only have an hour and a half, we pick and choose individual topics. Even if you have CS3 or CS2 the information is useful.
